Training Schedule

Week 1: Orientation & Onboarding

Location: 1133 Upper Asbury Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28026 Objective: Familiarize new Project Manager with company culture, organizational structure, tools, and expectations.

Activities:

  • Company introduction and leadership welcome
  • Overview of organizational structure and departments
  • HR policies and compliance overview
  • Introduction to internal tools and communication platforms
  • Review of training schedule and expectations

Focus Areas:

  • Culture & values
  • Company policies
  • Training framework

Week 2: OSHA 30 Training & PM Shadowing (Introductory)

Location: Charlotte Office Objective: Begin OSHA 30 certification and introduce the trainee to project management fundamentals through observation.

Activities:

  • 4 hours: OSHA 30 Training (online/instructor-led modules)
  • 4 hours: Shadowing assigned Project Manager
  • Observe daily responsibilities
  • Attend internal meetings
  • Review project plans and timelines

Focus Areas:

  • Workplace safety fundamentals
  • Observation of PM workflows
  • Exposure to active projects

Week 3: OSHA 30 Training & PM Shadowing (Deeper Engagement)

Location: Charlotte Office Objective: Continue OSHA 30 coursework and increase engagement in project coordination activities.

Activities:

  • 4 hours: OSHA 30 Training
  • 4 hours: Shadowing Project Manager
  • Participating in planning discussions
  • Review of Smartsheet’s documents
  • Assist with task tracking

Focus Areas:

  • Safety standards application
  • Scheduling & documentation
  • Stakeholder interaction

Week 4: OSHA 30 Completion, Shadowing, & Smartsheet Training

Location: Charlotte Office & Project Site Objective: Finalize OSHA 30 training, begin light project involvement, and receive technical training on PM tools.

Activities:

  • 4 hours: OSHA 30 Training (final modules and test prep)
  • 2 hours: On-site project observation and PM shadowing
  • 2 hours: Introduction to Smartsheet’s (task tracking, timelines)

Focus Areas:

  • OSHA 30 Certification Completion
  • Field conditions & project pacing
  • Digital project management tools

Week 5: Practical Application – Fieldwork, Tools & Team Support

Location: Charlotte Office & Project Site Objective: Apply safety knowledge and shadowing experience toward supporting live projects.

Activities:

  • 4 hours: OSHA 30 Certification (testing & completion)
  • 2 hours: Assist PM on-site (RFI tracking, reporting)
  • 2 hours: Intermediate Smartsheet’s training and updates

Focus Areas:

  • On-site field experience
  • Digital collaboration tools
  • Active project support

Week 6: Full-Time Shadowing & Applied Learning

Location: Charlotte Office & Project Site Objective: Begin operating as a Junior Project Manager under supervision.

Activities:

  • Daily shadowing of PMs across multiple projects
  • Participation in subcontractor meetings (if applicable)
  • Assist with project documentation and updates
  • Conduct brief field walkthroughs

Focus Areas:

  • Client/vendor coordination
  • Site progress monitoring
  • Reporting & documentation

Week 7: Capstone Week – Independent Tasks & PM Simulation

Location: Charlotte Office & Project Site

Objective: Prepare for independent PM responsibilities by executing simulated tasks and reflecting on training.

Activities:

  • Shadow PM during high-level meetings
  • Lead small project related tasks (e.g., update schedule, track submittals)
  • Final review meeting with training supervisor
  • Feedback & performance discussion

Focus Areas:

  • Project ownership
  • Communication & leadership
  • Readiness assessment

Training Outcomes by End of Week 7:

  • OSHA 30 Certified
  • Proficient in Smartsheet’s and internal PM tools
  • Experience shadowing in both office and field environments
  • Ready for first assignment
